This is Premature Birth Risk Factors

Called a premature birth if the fetus is born before 37 weeks gestational age to enter. In the United States nearly 10% of babies are born premature infants.

The following are risk factors that can cause pregnant women give birth to premature babies.

     Pregnancy doubles / twins.
     Has delivered a premature baby before.
     Smokers or users of cocaine / drugs.    
     Fetus for chromosomal abnormalities.
     Pregnant women with cervical or uterine abnormalities.
     Having abdominal surgery during pregnancy.
     Infection during pregnancy.
     Bleeding in second or third trimester of pregnancy.
     Very thin or prenatal care that is not true.
     Having a mother or grandmother who took the drug DES (diethylstilbrestol).
